Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Caldera de Taburiente for its absolutely breathtaking and unbelievable vistas, calling it one of the most fascinating places they've ever seen. The unique geological formations and the beauty of the Canarian pine forests are major highlights. However, some mention the challenging drive up and the importance of booking parking in advance.

"Best views I have ever seen and I have travelled to many places before like the alps, bring warm clothing however as you can expect it to be chilly as I could see my breath. Taxis run up and down from the place aswell and they are incredibly cheap. Make sure to go BEFORE 2 as the whole views are covered by clouds however."

"this caldera is one the most fascinating places I have ever seen. unbelievable vistas while taking a short (+-60 mins depending on your pace) hike. one should make a reservation to get there, although we were let drive up without having it checked."

Zdeno Blasko

"What a beautiful national park with breathtaking views along the walking route at the top parking area surrounded by the protected Canarian Pines. The drive up in our coach was a bit scary when we met another coming down as difficult to pass in the narrow road and their was lovely scenes down the valley on the way. We only did a short walk to the viewing platforms where you could see the layers of rock formation. It was very interesting to learn from our guide about the huge erosion crater and rocky layers. We found out about the dangers of forest fires and how the Canarian Pines have developed to survive them. Wear sensible comfortable shoes and a drink. The walking route has steep drops and no barriers, but the pathway is wide. It was chilly in the shade and warm in the sunshine. The visitors centre and toilets are at the bottom. You have to prebook a time slot for parking your vehicle to visit as numbers are restricted due to limited parking at the top. Very well worth a visiting if you are in the area."
