What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often describe Volcán de la Corona as a 'magical' and 'lesser explored' natural wonder, offering a peaceful alternative to more crowded tourist spots. The hike to the crater rim is generally considered easy, providing stunning views, though descending into the crater and climbing back up is a significant challenge.
"Lesser explored volcano... so we only saw one other pair of hikers all morning. One easy main route up and down. But other paths marked on map are there and easily passable, if you 'ignore' the occasional none official sign or flimsy wire gate across a clear path. Lots of wildlife and great views in all directions, including down into main crator. Well worth it if your looking for a none-torist driven volcano experience."

"I have to confess that I had here one of my lifetime experiences. I was just by myself in a such a magnificent place. When I reached the top of the crater, in the greatest silence I ve ever "heard", I got amazed by the way of how the Universe is creating wonders in this magical world. This is one of the the spots when I want to be back one day, because is pure magic."

"I was happy to find a natural thing to visit without 100 tourists queing up like at the cactus garden and so. I was pretty much alone. Only at the top there were 3 other people. At the start of the walk i was in doubt whether i would reach the volcano top, but it appeared to be quite an easy walk of like 30 minutes. I was a bit flabbergasted when i saw people having decended right in the volcano, thinking i would never do that. Later i went anyway to be able to say “i have been in a volcano!” 😀. But climbing back up was quite an effort. That’s like 45 degrees steep with loose gravel all the way. I wouldn’t do that a second time (decending into it). I had to supress a bit panicy feeling when going back up, thinking what kind of stupid thing i have done now lol. But made it."
