"Yesterday, Saturday, August 2nd, Mayor Gonzalo Jácome collided with another vehicle in front of him on Progreso Street. This is the information reported today, the 3rd, by the local newspaper La Región.
The vehicle, driven by the mayor himself, belongs to the City Council's fleet of municipal vehicles. Therefore, he was making private use of a municipal vehicle intended for public and official business.
Just last Saturday, I wrote a review in which I expressed my astonishment at seeing Mayor Jácome emerge from the Os Remedios sports center in sportswear and get in to personally drive the same vehicle that crashed yesterday.
It's raining like a wet one...and a lot.
As a citizen, I have every right to demand that our municipal councilor conduct himself with the neatness, honesty, and good conduct and example that befits his office.
I ask the opposition in the City Council to demand explanations from the Mayor for things like these and many others in which he acts very incorrectly.
The citizens of Ourense cannot allow or let these attitudes from Mayor Jácome go unnoticed, because this is not a one-off instance of misconduct; not at all: Mayor Gonzálo Jácome behaves and acts too often beyond the limits of his authority.
It is difficult to understand that the very people who should be putting a stop to it and demanding explanations—the opposition—behave in such a permissive and negligent manner, neglecting their duties.
I am grateful to the newspaper La Región for taking the time to inform us about the things that surround the Mayor (all of them), because they act as the only critical conscience. The rest of us, opposition politicians and citizens, cannot stand idly by."

"We saw it from the outside and it was fine, but it wasn't that spectacular a building either."
