Many are surprised by its extensive nature and excellent English descriptions, especially considering the very low entry fee. The main drawback is the unreliability of online opening hours, which can lead to confusion.
"Our next visit was the Archaeology Museum which had various unearthed streets and buildings from the late Roman period, all in a custom designed building. I think it was 2€ each which was a real bargain as there was lots to see and excellent English descriptions of all the displays. The information boards went right up to the present day, showing the development of the town and port."

"Absolutely brilliant!!!
Unbelievably this doesn't seem to appear on "things to do at sagunto" searches but it was fabulous. I saw it on Google maps as we were having lunch and thought it sounded interesting but Google maps said it was closed. We wandered over anyway just in case and it was, in fact, open!
This is an archeological dig within a building and is so beautiful and extensive. The information is excellent. We were blown away by it, and it was free! And to think that a few decades ago it was covered by a football pitch!
I definitely recommend this."
