Reviews Summary

The Ayuntamiento de Zafra is a beautifully renovated building in a prime city center location, often hosting art in its courtyard. However, visitors seeking administrative services should be prepared for potentially rigid processes and strict adherence to rules, as one review detailed a frustrating experience with an appointment. "I had an appointment to renew my ID at 1:48 PM, and I arrived early, naively thinking it would help speed up the process. The employee who helped me—a young man with curly, dark hair—very carefully noticed that my bangs were touching my eyebrows and, with the authority he seemed to enjoy wielding, indicated that I should take another photo. I asked if I would have time, and he assured me with absolute certainty that I would.

Twenty minutes later (record time to get home, get ready, go through the photo booth, and return, parking at 2:23 PM), I found the door closing. The same employee, who was so convinced I had plenty of time, looked at me as if he'd never seen me before, asked with feigned surprise, "Who are you?" and, after reminding him of the reason, closed the door in my face with a copy of "Make an appointment another day."

I wasn't expecting last-minute miracles, but rather something as basic as consistency and a minimum of politeness. However, what I received was a display of arrogance, disinterest, and an air of superiority unbecoming of someone representing the public administration.

It's striking how a simple formality becomes a demonstration of personal power by an employee who seems more concerned with marking their territory than providing professional service. It's a shame that citizens are relegated to being treated with indifference and condescension, as if they were bothering me by fulfilling their obligation to renew an official document.

In short: more than a civil servant, he seemed like a nightclub bouncer closing the door at will. It's a very illustrative example of the concept of "citizen service," which, unfortunately, I had to experience firsthand."
