Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Peperpot Nature Park for its abundant wildlife, particularly monkeys and sloths, and its historical significance as a preserved plantation. The opportunity to explore via bike or canoe is a highlight, though some note the park's trails are limited. The entrance fee for tourists is higher than for locals.
"What a great day out! We arrived early so as to avoid the mid day sun and heat. Take plenty of water with you and some snacks. Recommend you either wear trouser and long sleeves or definitely take mosquito repellent. Price of entry is 100SRD for a local and 200SRD for a tourist. The park has one main route in a straight line with a couple of side trails. We manage to spot 5 sloth and plenty of various monkey species. You can rent bikes here, although we didn’t so I’m not sure of the prices. Along the route there are plenty of places to stop and rest on a bench. There’s also a tower that you can climb which takes you up into the rainforest canopy.
All in all an excellent day and highly recommend."

"Peperpot is one of the last well-preserved plantations in Suriname.
The original coffee fields are long gone, but the history and buildings are still in great shape. It’s a great outing if you want to explore beautiful nature while also getting a deeper understanding of Suriname’s slavery history.
You can choose to bike through the area, or go by canoe if that’s more your thing. The bikes are a bit wobbly, but hey, you can’t have it all. It’s kid-friendly and easygoing, and if you’re staying at the nearby hotel, there are night tours with local guides that are absolutely worth it.
Being on a bike in the Amazon jungle is something you’ll want to experience at least once."

"I rented a bike with my friends and cycle to the park, really relaxing experience, fun, breezy and in my opinion just really a good way to spend quality time with those who matter."
