What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Linné's Sävja Cottage as a unique museum and a charming summer residence of Carl Linnaeus. The historical insights, coupled with engaging summer events like art shows and music, make for a memorable experience. Some note that off-season visits might offer less to see, and information is primarily in Swedish, though staff are helpful.
"Uniq museum, this was a simple summer residence of Carl Linné. Great caffee, marvelous events. There was a country song performance today organised by Gårdsoasen, a coffee run in one of the buildings. Rich program during the summer artists show their work, less known band he's the chance to show off."

"A small museum in what used to be Linnaeus' farmhouse and personal study. It houses a permanent exhibition of medicinal plants in the first floor, as well as a space for art exhibition and a reconstruction of Linnaeus' study room in the 2nd floor. Though most of the information is provided in Swedish, the staff who is a member of Danmarks Hembygdsförening very kindly gave us a private guided tour (in English) around the house and the surrounding garden. Gained very interesting insight on Linnaeus' personal time spent in Sävja. The cafe was sadly permanently closed but they provide a simple fika and tea/coffee in the kitchen (with original stove from Linnaeus' era!) for a small price. It was a wonderful visit and considering they are only opened for weekends during June and August, it would be a rare and unique Uppsala experience."

"Visit was off season, nothing really to view there now in fall. Unless likes to view really old red houses.
Walked some pathways and looked at dead grass mainly and talked to friend during walk. Drove there to stretch legs and get some air as free parking."
