What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Nordic Museum Stockholm for its stunning architecture and comprehensive, engaging exhibits on Nordic history and culture. Highlights include detailed displays on traditions, fashion, and Arctic life, with many appreciating the recreated historical settings. While the museum is highly recommended, a few guests have mentioned an unwelcoming front desk experience as a minor detractor.
"The museum is very well maintained and offers several different sections inside. Both the interior and exterior are stunning, perfectly reflecting Nordic style and atmosphere. Some exhibitions were truly engaging and strongly connected to Nordic traditions. However, I didn’t really understand the choice of including the ‘Britain’ exhibition, which felt a bit out of place."

"Really cool museum that gives an overall, high-level introduction to Scandinavia through the ages and different seasons. You learn a lot about people and the countries, while also seeing objects from the different time periods. The audio guide was cool & the app easy to install, so bring headphones. There were also multimedia displays to understand and learn more. The additional exhibits were cool, especially the one on exploring the arctic. There is a large souvenir stores with high-quality, locally-made products. The restaurant is great as well, you can have a variety of snacks and also a complete dish. We found a couple of vegan options as well."
Jennifer Cook
"This museum offers fascinating insight into Nordic life starting from the 1500s and continuing with descriptions of Nordic life in each century thereafter.
Another exhibition displayed British table settings, showing different cutlery and crockery as well as different dishes that were served in various centuries.
British fashion (and its association with Nordic fashion) from various historical periods was also displayed.
The second floor displayed Arctic life, particularly the influence of global warming and the melting of the Arctic ice.
One this floor one was also able to visit a flat from the 1940s."
