Can you recommend lovely towns in Skåne that have less crime rate (compared to larger cities) and are family-friendly? For living, not travelling. Someplace where it’s nice to grow up as a kid.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ystad Central Station is a small, clean, and historic hub, praised for its convenient access to ferries and the charming town center. While signage can be poor, its proximity to amenities and its role as a gateway to continental Europe and Bornholm are significant advantages. Visitors appreciate its role in Wallander lore and the quirky local monuments.
"Small country town rail station, served regularly by quick trains to Malmo. Train station features in several episodes of Wallander if you're ticking off shooting locations within the town."
Neil A. Evans
"Small, clean station close to the ferry to Bornholm. TIP: if you are catching the ferry to Bornholm as a foot passenger, head towards the red brick buildings and turn left at the end of the platform, cross the tracks and this will bring you to the ferry building. DO NOT head to the footbridge over the railway tracks (as Google Maps indicates) as this is for car passengers. Signage at the Station is poor, and as the trains can wait for some time, you cannot always see the ferry."
Pete B
"Loveliest and prettiest town in Sweden according to me. Unfortunately many of the shops in the city centre have closed down and many buildings are run down too, but Ystad is still worth seeing for its many medieval and early modern buildings and it still has a decent selection of restaurants and cafés. The old Abbey and the museum there are really interesting and the sea front is nice for a walk. Ystad beach is worth visiting during the summer months."
