What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Åbackarna Riverside Walk is appreciated for its wild, natural beauty, particularly its ancient oak trees and peaceful riverside paths. Visitors enjoy the summer charm of grazing cows. However, concerns about ticks, litter, and less scenic industrial views detract from the experience for some.
"Nice wild park with old oaks. But beware if ticks!!! We found a few on us after visiting this place."
Valeria Azovskaya
"Parking behind CityGross at what I assume is their warehouse. Someone's broken mattress was lying next to the reserve entrance. Litter in the area. Lots of noise from the roads and the top of Ekbackarna offers boring views of industrial areas. If you want to go for a walk here, it doesn't take much longer than 10 minutes to walk around the reserve.
The trees aren't that crazy and children can certainly have fun here, but unfortunately there's not much excitement here. Of course it's not the reserve's fault that people destroy, but it hardly gives a good first impression when garbage is among the first things you see. Wasted potential here, unfortunately."

"There is a forest area to stroll around in. In the summers there are cows in the area so it might be a good idea to keep that in mind."

Navigating the Nature Reserve
The presence of grazing cows during the summer months adds a unique, pastoral element to the landscape, making it a pleasant sight for visitors. However, this also means being mindful of livestock. The reserve is best enjoyed with a relaxed approach, appreciating the quiet moments and the resilience of nature.
For those seeking a quick nature fix, the reserve is ideal for short, refreshing walks. It's not typically a destination for extensive hiking, but rather for a brief immersion in a natural setting. Remember to always check for ticks after your visit, as this is a common concern in such wild areas.
Wildlife and Safety Considerations
During the summer, cows graze in the meadows, which can be a charming addition to the scenery. Visitors should maintain a respectful distance from the livestock and ensure pets are kept under control to avoid any disturbances. While the park is a natural habitat, the primary safety concern highlighted by reviews is the prevalence of ticks.
Beyond ticks and livestock, the park's natural setting means being mindful of uneven terrain. Wearing appropriate footwear is recommended for a comfortable and safe experience. The overall advice is to enjoy the natural beauty while remaining vigilant about personal safety and the environment.
