What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Zügenschlucht for its stunning natural beauty and the unique experience of riding a historic train through the gorge. The comfortable walking path and river access are also highlighted as major positives, making it a well-rounded destination for various interests.
"Nice walk along a gorge. You walk along an old railway with beautiful arched bridges. The path is wide and is also used by cyclists, so watch out for that. It is nice to descend to the river every now and then, especially with a dog wonderful for cooling down. Halfway you also have a waterfall. For us it was too far to walk all the way to Wiesen station. We had now already walked 8km there and back. To Wiesen station it would add 1:15 hours there and back! We had parked the car at Monstein station, this is against payment (parkmobile app or buy a ticket at the machine) but you can also park the car directly after the tunnel on the right, there is a small parking lot."
