What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Swiss Museum of Games for its beautiful castle setting overlooking Lake Geneva and its highly interactive exhibits, especially the playable board games. The multilingual information and accessibility options are also appreciated. However, some find the board game focus a bit dull and suggest more computer games, while parking can be a notable inconvenience.
"Beautiful castle, with even more beautiful view on lake. Not so easy to find parking spot. There is a playground. Although I spent childhood playing board games, chess etc - part of museum linked to board games was boring. Sorry☹️ some fun were computer games, we had lot of fun playing one together with my son for long time, in one of rooms as well as on the way were some games. In my opinion museum should over time increase presence of computer games. I realized that even if my favorite board games would be in museum, looking at them would be… boring :( it is nice that there is a separate space you can play some of board games with family or friends."

"Went on a weekday, it was virtually empty, just one other group that appeared to be getting a private tour. They had a special exhibit of the influence of nature and the environment on games. It was nicely done, and nice to see some of the history of games. We also stayed to play some of the board game collection downstairs. The staff was friendly, and allowed us to use their elevator for a mobility-challenged person in my group. A fun way to spend the morning! We followed it with lunch along Quai Roussy and a nice stroll down to Ze Fork!"
