What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Church of Saint-Martin for its beautiful and unique stained glass windows, which depict biblical lessons in an artistic manner. The historic architecture, dating back to the 1400s, and the picturesque terrace overlooking Lake Geneva are also significant draws. Some appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the chance to hear the organist practicing.
"I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the outside of the Church of St Martin in Vevey. We went there to visit the grave of my husband's grandfather and other assorted relatives. I heard what I thought was a mass being celebrated, so I rushed in to see. It turns out it was the organist practicing. The stained glass windows are some of the prettiest I've seen and, because it's a Protestant church, the themes were different than the ones I'm used to as well. Instead of being the stations of the Cross, they were lessons and teaching moments from the Bible. Part of the original building was built in the 1400s and there's a bit left in the nave"
