What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Schaulager for its unique architectural design and its capacity to host ambitious, large-scale contemporary art exhibitions. The immersive experiences, like Steve McQueen's 'Bass' exhibit, are frequently highlighted for their meditative qualities. While the art itself is often lauded, some reviews suggest that exhibition curation can occasionally miss the mark in fully utilizing the impressive space.
"Amazing building...and wonderful is, we can enjoy this luxury in Switzerland. An extraordinary place for big art. All the more important is the curator who is allowed to play with this space. In the case of the bass piece, this was not entirely successful. Either the tuning was not good, or perhaps the loudspeakers, or the room was simply too big for the piece. But there was still a mystical atmosphere. The light supported ...but was it in tune with the piece? I will certainly come again...the room is unique..."

"Spent a lovely overcast Sunday at the Steve McQueen Bass exhibit. Walking fluid within the open space of Schaulager and fixated on the lights, colors and ambient sounds kept us in a meditative state. It is well worth a visit!"
