Schloss Schadau was built in 1854 for the banker Abraham de Rougemont. The design was by Pierre-Charles Dusillon, who followed the romantic neo-Gothic taste of the period. Its layout uses an asymmetrical plan, pointed arches, and decorative tracery."

"If you want to stay here make sure you book well in advance as the castle has very few rooms and thus fills up quickly.
The rooms are big and spacious and if you don't score one of the rooms on the lake side which have jaw dropping lake & mountain views, the 'simple' garden view rooms will please you with views of big old oaks and other trees.
My only complaint would be the breakfast, it is small and uninspiring."
