What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Saut du Day is praised for its magnificent and powerful waterfall, especially after rain, with unique opportunities to explore beneath the cascade. Visitors appreciate the charming river gorges but note the challenging, steep, and often muddy terrain, emphasizing the need for proper footwear. Navigation can also be a minor hurdle.
"Very nice waterfall. We approached the Waterfall from the side of the Military base. The street is not accessible for public vehicles. While parking on the side looking for alternative routes the military was on their way out, so we asked for directions. Instead of giving us directions they allowed us to use their private road and allowed us to park close to the base, in what seemed to be their private parking spots.
The hike was very short but also very steep. The waterfall is beautiful, there is also a way under and through it which looked like right out of a horror movie scene. Maybe some lights powered by the waterfall would be a good idea...
Other than that i would recommend hood hiking shoes."

"Hurry up to visit this magnificent waterfall in the Orbe river while there is still a great flow after the heavy rains recently this mid October of 2024. You can see it from a bridge in its upper section, from both sides of the tunnel under the lowermost part of the waterfall and from the riverside opposite to it. Just don't forget your Wellingtons and bring a cloth to wipe the water vapor off your lens because it's really smoking."

"Great waterfall. We took the path from Orbes to Le Day and access to waterfall was easy. We visited in the mid of March and it was a bit muddy, so better take some hiking shoes with you or hiking sticks. We forgot our hiking sticks, so we used branches to pass the difficult places."
