What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of Amasya from the summit of the Çakallar Rock Tombs. The ancient, rock-carved tombs themselves are impressive and offer a unique historical perspective. However, some reviewers note that the path can be poorly maintained and that more descriptive information about the site's history would enhance the experience.
"Pontic Kings Rock Tombs is definitely worth a visit! The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking — you can see the entire city spread out below you, and it feels incredible once you reach the summit.
However, it would be even better if there were more descriptions or backstory information around the site to make the experience more interactive and educational.
The entrance fee is 100 TL per person, which is reasonable, but be prepared: there are a lot of stairs. It gets tiring, but the views at the end make the climb totally worth it.
Overall, a beautiful and memorable experience!"

"King Rock Tombs – Impressive and Majestic
The King Rock Tombs are very impressive and full of history. They are carved into the mountain and offer a fantastic view of the whole city. You have to walk a little uphill, but it’s not too hard and it’s really worth it. The tombs are big and mysterious, and you can take great pictures there. The ticket price is 100TL, and children can go in for free. The people at the entrance are very friendly and give you useful information. It’s one of the most important places to visit in Amasya. I really loved it."

"A nice monument, it's clean, very very good organised to bad that the original was destroyed by the Roman empire more than 2000 years ago. Very nice view of the city."
