Reviews Summary
Visitors find Sultanahmet Square a historically rich and central location, offering a glimpse into Istanbul's past with its ancient Hippodrome remnants and iconic monuments. While the sheer volume of tourists can be overwhelming, the accessibility and the grandeur of the surrounding historical sites are consistently praised.
"One of the most iconic and beautiful places in Istanbul!
Sultan Ahmet is a must-visit if you’re in the city. The Blue Mosque is absolutely breathtaking, both inside and out. The architecture, the history, and the atmosphere are truly special. It’s amazing to stand in a place that holds so much cultural and historical significance. The area is also very walkable, with nearby attractions like Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, and the Basilica Cistern just a few minutes away. Great spots for photos, and plenty of places to grab a Turkish tea or some local food. Highly recommend visiting early in the morning or at sunset for the best experience!"

"Great to see during the day. But we were in Istanbul in summer at it was Hot. So go there at night as well the lights are awesome. And very few people around about 9 pm. Got so great photos of the sites and special ones of the family at night."

"This mosque is beautiful, historical, amazing and grand.
I would suggest anyone who wants to visit here to make sure you wear a modest dress, and if you don’t have any scarves, they would lend it to you for free.
Also please take off your shoes and be respectful."
