Reviews Summary

Tamsui Old Street is praised for its vibrant atmosphere, delicious and affordable street food, and beautiful waterfront views, especially during sunset. While some find it similar to other old streets, its unique local delicacies and historical sites like Fort San Domingo offer a distinct charm. It's easily accessible and a great spot for a relaxed half-day or evening outing.

"It’s good but not anything different from other old streets. I’d say if you compared it to a night market there’s less choice but there’s a lot more if you look outside the old street. I didn’t really see anything super special, but the coastal view is nice. It brings a really nice breeze in, and if you’re there in the summer is much needed relief."

Lottie Lottie

"Really good night market with plenty of food and things to look and buy. Lovely sun set. Plenty of local people and less tourists. Reasonable price."

Rithvik Reddy

"Old Street is the perfect mix of local culture, food, and waterfront vibes. It’s lively but not overwhelming, with a long stretch of snacks, souvenir shops, and scenic walking areas along the river.
Must-try foods? Definitely the A-gei, fish balls which i have tried… its amazing! You’ll also find cute stalls selling peanut ice cream rolls and fried taro balls.
What I loved most was the laid-back atmosphere — you can stroll slowly, snack along the way, and catch amazing sunset views by the water.

It’s easy to reach from Taipei by MRT (Red Line to Tamsui Station), and everything is walkable once you get there. Great for a half-day trip or a chill late afternoon visit.
Highly recommend for anyone who loves street food, local charm, and riverside beauty."
