Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Yilan Art Museum for its intimate scale, making art feel accessible and the experience highly personal. The blend of historical architecture with diverse exhibitions, including engaging performing arts, is a significant draw. While some wish for more English explanations, the overall value and unique offerings, like free costume photos during performances, are highly appreciated.
"I came for the image installation exhibition by Ming-Chang Tian. Even though the museum is small, the exhibition is well and effectively curated in three rooms, signifying three stages of the artist’s life journey. I really think is worth seeing, but it would be great if there’s more explanation in English to cater to international audience."

"I just love the small exhibition area. It makes art super approachable. The shows here can take advantage of 2 different floors, vault area and historical beautiful architectures. The window iron works are fantastic. I share one of my favorite show 席德進 here. Come check out. Free for yilan residence."

"What a surprise! There was an amateur Taiwanese theatre group that performs on the 4th Saturday of each month 2:30 and 3:30. The girl dresses as a guy and the guy a woman. So funny when the lady voice slips back to the man's voice. Did I get that wrong? So funny haha. Come and guess. You may also try on traditional clothes and have photos taken with the actors for free. Well worth the 50 TWD entry fee to the Yilan arts museum. As well as performing arts, there are also visual arts."
