What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ban Tawai Woodcarving Village is a treasure trove for craft enthusiasts, offering an immense variety of intricate wood carvings and handicrafts. Visitors appreciate the authentic artisan experience, the opportunity to bargain, and the chance to find unique items not available elsewhere. However, some shops may be closed early in the morning, and there's a cautionary note regarding potential shipping scams, advising direct payment and immediate takeaway for purchases.
"Very good walk!! Take a walk, visit the stands, relax and ask information about their job.
Open late in the morning.
Enjoy"

"Visited this very interesting place today. We were looking for some big wood carvings and we’re not disappointed.
Pros - each shop sells different stuff so there is a lot of variety. We could bargain the price a bit for the some small things. They don’t sell the usual souvenir stuff that you can get in the night market.
There are a few shipping company shops in case you want to send the big stuff you bought back home.
Cons - many shops were still closed, which was a shame. Still enough to look around. Could not see proper toilets or food stalls. These could be improved in this to encourage tourists to come.
It’s a beautiful place and hope it can thrive and open soon."

"Be careful scam! We were there on 12th september 2024 in a shop called AT HomeTeakwood. We found a mural wood for 5.900 Baht which was very nice but too big to take within a suitcase. The woman of the shop offered us send it directly to our country for a total of 17.500 Baht via express mail. We paid via Credit card in a Partner shop called Jaruk idea. We got their whatsapp number so she would inform and update us about the delivery. She wrote over the months that there are diverse Problems with the packaging and mailage Service Provider. After several months we did not receive anything. Pkease pay attention here. There are very nice wood Produkts. Only pay and take directly with you. Otherwise you might be scammed here."
