Timing is Key for a Peaceful Visit

While Muak Lek Waterfall is a lovely day trip, it can get crowded, especially on weekends with local families. Visiting on a weekday or during off-peak hours will offer a more serene experience. Consider arriving early to secure parking and enjoy the tranquility before the crowds arrive.

Understand the Entrance Fees

Be aware that entrance fees differ for Thai nationals and foreign visitors. While the fee for locals is quite affordable, foreigners pay a significantly higher price. This is a common practice in some Thai attractions, so be prepared for the difference.

Reviews Summary

Muak Lek Waterfall is a charming spot, particularly loved by local families for its refreshing waters and picnic-friendly atmosphere. While the waterfall itself is small, the adjacent arboretum offers beautiful greenery and a scenic suspension bridge. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to swim and relax, though the foreigner entrance fee is notably higher than for locals.

"The waterfall is as the name suggests a tiny small waterfall. It is flooded with Thai families who spend their weekend swimming in the water stream near the waterfall. The place is good for a day visit. I only spent a couple of minutes there. The entrance fees is 20 THB for Thai locals and 100 THB for foreigners. They also have lodging options for people who’d prefer to stay. Plenty of food stalls near the entrance. There are quite a few good cafes nearby to visit though. This place is good if you have camping chairs and you want to take a dip into the water. It’s allowed to bring your camping folding chairs inside along with your alcohol cooler. Most people camp here and have food inside near the waterfall. Not a great spot for foreigners though. Worth one time visit."

"This is one of the beautiful National Parks Arboretums in Thailand. The place is nice, clean and well maintained with a diverse plant world and a small waterfall with a suspension bridge over the river. There are small houses for rent inside the park, I don't know the prices and facilities. The entrance fee is 20 Bath for locals and 100 Bath for foreign visitors. There are food options opposite the entrance, there is a cafe and annexe inside the park which is also clean and well maintained. We liked this place too 🙂"

"pretty, went on Monday it was part of a 3 day weekend. it was not crowded, plenty of parking. had shops that sell coffee, snacks, grilled chicken and typical meals..

not allowed to take food or drinks into the waterfall area, also no pets as have stray dogs there.

the area inside the waterfall area had many nice arboretum plants and garden sculptures. there is a swing suspension walkway bridge but it is mostly stable, there are paved walkways with some benches for resting. can walk off the pavement to sit closer to the water or swim. around the park is a paved trail suitable to walk easy or take a wheelchair.

not too busy but I think it is more popular on big holidays."
