Reviews Summary
Summit Green Valley Country Club offers a challenging and scenic golfing experience, praised for its well-maintained course and knowledgeable caddies. While the greens are a highlight for their difficulty, they can be punishing for high handicappers. The clubhouse provides good amenities, though some note the night golf lighting could be improved.
"Summit Green Valley Golf Club is an international level golf course. It's over 30 years old. The green fees are the priciest in the Chiangmai region.
The course is longish off the black, but the course is playable off the blues. It is possibly the toughest course in Chinagmai because of the greens. Many are elevated, and some are tiny. Some slopes on the green are severe, so it pays to land below the hole. Greens are usually protected by bunkers front and rear. Hence, it's a little punishing for high handicappers. I was punished with distances - ball hits the green and zips to the back or off the green, because the greens don't bite.
The club offers a lunch voucher. Lunch is basic, but it is ok.
Overall, it was a good experience."

"Such an excellent experience, in town from the US and was looking for a nice course, saw they had night golf and wanted to try it. Highly recommend a 4 pm tee time for a beautiful sunset and playing the back 9 under lights."

"Great golf club , just on the outskirts of Chiangmai. The clubhouse is quite large though a bit dated but still overall well maintained. It was rather crowded when we played there in a Thurs morning and a number of jumbo flights of 5-6 balls were in front of us. So it was going to be a long day in the course. However since it was January , we had the perfect glorious weather , full sunshine and cool air with a light breeze throughout the day.
The course is challenging enough for all level of play , greens are quite small and narrow making it a challenge land on. Fairways are well maintained and layout of the course is peppered with enough bunkers and accompanying water hazards throughout the course. Watch out for the signature hole at the end , it’s tough."

Navigating the Greens: A Golfer's Guide
The course layout is peppered with bunkers and water hazards, which can be particularly punishing for high handicappers. The combination of these hazards and the tricky greens means that even experienced golfers will find a good challenge here. Some visitors have noted that the greens don't 'bite' as much as expected, leading to balls zipping off the green if not played carefully.
Despite the challenges, the course is generally well-maintained, with lush fairways and quick greens. The overall experience is often described as good, with many golfers expressing a desire to play again, provided they are prepared for the course's demanding nature.
The Night Golf Experience
Many visitors recommend a 4 PM tee time for this experience, as it allows you to witness a beautiful sunset over the course before the lights come on. This combination of natural twilight beauty and artificial illumination creates a memorable setting. The back nine is typically played under these lights.
However, it's worth noting that some reviews suggest the lighting for night golf might not be optimal. While it provides visibility, the quality of light might impact the precision required for certain shots. Despite this, the novelty and the chance to play in cooler evening temperatures make it an appealing option for many.
