What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pang Ung is widely praised for its breathtaking natural beauty, particularly the serene lake and surrounding pine forests, making it a photographer's paradise. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, especially during early mornings, and activities like bamboo rafting. While some find it a perfect spot for a few hours, others recommend an overnight stay to fully immerse in its tranquility.
"A wonderful camping spot by the lake, giving you a feeling like you're in Switzerland. It’s located near Yunnan Village and Mae Hong Son. Camping tents can be rented for 500 baht per night. Boating on the lake is available for 150 baht for two people for about 30–45 minutes. You can also see the Royal Queen’s black swans at the far end of the lake—great for photo opportunities, and a place that many locals also love to visit.
Please note that the mist depends on the weather, so it might not appear every day. There are no major petrol stations along the way, only small local pumps that cost about 50 baht per litre. So filling your tank in Pai or Mae Hong Son is highly recommended."
