Hey /r/tea! I have been to Thailand during March and April this year. Even though it wasn't the main purpose of the trip I had the intention of visiting a tea farm during my time there. This is a short report about how I got there and what I have seen there. If you just want to…

This is a green tea plantation in the northern region of Thailand, my home... 🍵😌🏡 I put this tea leaf inside my jacket pocket and left it overnight by accident. The next morning when i found it, i tried grinding it with my fingers. It smelled just like a fresh matcha powder! 🍵🍃
Wow, I actually plan on going there and visiting plantations in a few months. What is the name of this one?

Visitors rave about the exceptional quality of tea and the rich history of Doi Wawee, particularly the ancient tea trees. The generosity and knowledge of the local hosts, who are often descendants of the original tea farmers, create a deeply personal and memorable experience. While the journey can be bumpy, the authentic tea tasting and cultural immersion are consistently highlighted as major draws.
"I visited 81 Wawee Tea plantation a month ago with my parents, brother and a family friend. Yuri served us high quality oolongs and puerhs that she and her family produce. She and her husband were super generous to spend time with us, driving us in the back of their pickup truck on a fun and bumpy terrain. They showed us ancient tea trees that date back to over 900 plus years. She detailed intimate history of the people here, ancient tea farmers from Yunnan Province who planted tea trees in this region close to a millennia ago. Yuri gave us an amazing tea tasting experience, and we all got to taste high quality, exquisite tea directly from their collection. We even got to meet her husband and his father, the gentleman who became famous for producing tea in this region. They even have a table and chair devoted to when the Princess of Thailand visited and drank their teas. A true gem for purveyors of tea and tea lovers alike in Thailand 🇹🇭 😊🍵🙏"
