Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Wat Sala Loi for its unique boat-shaped architecture and serene atmosphere, highlighting the striking white Buddha and the symbolic Thao Suranari sculptures. It's considered a significant cultural and spiritual site, offering a peaceful escape and a glimpse into local devotion. Some find the journey a bit long, but the unique visual appeal makes it worthwhile.

"Well, the temple is located on the road encircling the old city moat, was jointly constructed in 1827 by Thao Suranari and her husband, the deputy governor of Nakhon Ratchasima. The temple’s ordination hall (Ubosot) received accolades for pioneering religious architecture from the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage, and from the Sathirakoses-Nagapradipa Foundation in 1973. So like you can guess its worth a visit."

"A mini temple wonderland. Lots of Buddhist temples, statues and deities to see, and worship if you are so inclined.
I went during a Buddhist holiday so the place was very busy with worshipers. Very interesting to see how people paid their respects.
Nice cafe situated in the middle of the complex too. Near the water fountain.
Worth a look."

Wat Sala Loi is located at northeast of city, about 500 meters from Rob Mueng Road.
Wat Sala Loi is built by the Khorat heroine Thao Suranari and her husband in 1827.
Wat Sala Loi's highlight is the meeting hall which is the applied Thai art in the shape of a ship riding the waves. the door is also made of metal.
Inside the hall there is a large statue of Buddha. The exterior is fullled with a plaster sculpture of Thao Suranari sitting praying in the middle of a pond, plus with a smallpagoda that contains the ash of her"
