What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the National Art Gallery for its contemporary Bahamian art and the engaging Junkanoo exhibit, offering a refreshing cultural experience away from typical tourist crowds. While some find the collection eclectic and certain pieces subjective, the historical setting and local talent are consistently highlighted as positives.
"Super cool contemporary art museum. I really recommend going especially if you’re tired of cruise ship conformity"
Arundhati Eidinger
"It's a small gallery that used to be the home of the governor (or someone in government). There were a few exhibits when we visited. Some of the old photos were pretty cool. There were some good paintings and drawings as well. A few things, like a stack of wood, I don't consider art, but that's just MHO. We wouldn't go back though."
Michael
"A fairly good sized venue. Quite an eclectic collection. Many of the same artists were represented over and over. But there were some really good works presented. Many areas did not allow photos though."
