Reviews Summary

Magnesia on the Meander is praised as an 'interesting, off the beaten path historical site' offering a peaceful alternative to busier attractions. Visitors are particularly impressed by the well-preserved stadium and the opportunity for uncrowded exploration. Some minor inconveniences include the need for cash payment and obtaining a fob for stadium access.

"An interesting, off the beaten path historical site. I think we saw 6 other visitors that day. A drastic change from the tourism at Efes. Incomplete archeological dig site, but lots of cool things to see. Many reviews said this site was free, and maybe it is to Turks, but the fee for us was $3€ each. We had 4 people, but didn't have euro or lira cash, so we ended up paying $15usd, and the man there would only accept small bills of $1/$5....no $20. The stadium on site(behind a grove of fig trees) is accessible on foot, but you have to have a fob to unlock the gate. Luckily, we ran into a family that helped us with this situation. I returned to the office, to get a fob, which wasn't given to us at the time of ticket purchase. It's about a mile walk, up the hillside, to the stadium, but you can also drive your car up a stone path(this is accessible just south of ticket office parking) . It's a narrow, single vehicle path, so use caution around the bends in the road. A very cool site! and you can climb up the stadium steps. Interesting reliefs of gladiators and such on the bottom stadium walls."

"Wow! Love you just can walk around and take it in.

We were the only people not at work during our visit, love seeing the archeology taking place.

Do not expect any guides.

I'll keep this posted like this, so that we can see when this site is as busy as Ephesus."

Juul Tummers

"It was a WOW reaction when we saw the ruins of the stadium. Nobody was there. Full place was ours to explore. The stadium is in really good conditions. I strongly suggest to visit this site"
