What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the breathtaking views from Hoverla and the refreshing mountain stream. The availability of equipment rentals and basic amenities at the base is appreciated. However, the challenging road to reach the base and the limited payment options (cash only) are common drawbacks.
"There are electric heaters in the rooms which is useful for drying clothes. Hot water is produced by beefy electric heaters and virtually never runs out. So one shower per level is not a problem. Reception person is polite but bank cards are not accepted for payment. There is only Vodafone cellphone coverage around."

"Great experience. Really hard, and I'm decently athletic. But my girlfriend did it too... As well as a chubby little 8 year old and his sister.... Ok, maybe it's not THAT hard. It starts off with a hike through some Forest with a great mountain stream it cold pure water. For gosh sakes, pace yourselves. The ending is a very steep climb. There's no true climbing involved, it's all walkable, but it's steep. I highly suggest renting walking sticks at the beginning. Come to find out... They relieve up to 10kgs of pressure off each leg. SO WORTH IT. We did it without the sticks thinking it was just extra weight, wrong idea. Get the sticks. The guide is funny, very light hearted. Overall, would totally do again."

"Terrible 8km road to get there from the checkpoint at the beginning of the Carpathian National Park...
Parking for 30 UAH/day
The nearest starting point to climb the Hoverla mountain...possible to buy food and drink and also to rent touristic equipment (hiking boots, hiking sticks etc.)."
