"1 hour from Sharjah 9 minutes before your stop over to Khorfakkkan. This place has prestige beauty with modern amenities. Couple of years back the place was a small village now renovated to a boutique four start property. Everything is great for a small break to enjoy great view and peaceful surroundings, as a day visitor. The management does not allow the body to the watch tower unless you are staying there. Loved every bit of the moment here. Food a limited but management lunch or evening tea."

I highly recommend booking in advance, as this boutique hotel only has seven Kareen Houses, making availability limited. We secured our Kareen Double Room through Booking.com well ahead of our trip, which was a smart move given the hotel’s exclusivity and high demand. The process was seamless, but don’t expect to snag a last-minute room here—its small size and popularity mean spots fill up quickly. Plan ahead to ensure you don’t miss out on this unique experience.

Driving up to Najd Al Meqsar, located in the Wadi weShie archaeological site, felt like entering another world. The hotel is perched high in the Khor Fakkan mountains, offering panoramic views of rolling hills, dense forests, and distant horizons. The 300-year-old fort and meticulously restored stone houses immediately set the tone for a stay steeped in heritage. Parking was a breeze—free private parking is available on-site, which was a huge plus. The lot was convenient, secure, and even included electric vehicle charging and bicycle parking options, making it hassle-free to settle in after our drive from the city.
✨The Room: Rustic Charm Meets Modern Comfort✨
Our Kareen Double Room was a perfect blend of traditional Emirati craftsmanship and modern amenities. The hand-hewn wooden beams, stone walls, and thatched roof gave the room a rustic, authentic vibe, while thoughtful touches like a king-size bed, air conditioning, and complimentary Wi-Fi ensured comfort. The room was spotlessly clean, and the private balcony offered jaw-dropping views of the Hajar Mountains, especially at sunset when the sky turned fiery hues. Modern conveniences like a smart TV, minibar, espresso machine, and luxurious bathrobes made the stay feel indulgent. The only minor critique I’d offer is that the lighting could benefit from a dimmer switch, as it was either very bright or quite dark, but this didn’t detract from the overall experience.
✨Dining at Wishi Restaurant✨
The on-site Wishi Restaurant was a highlight of our stay. Open from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM, it serves a variety of international and Emirati dishes with options for halal, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. We opted for a continental breakfast, which was freshly prepared and served with a stunning mountain view from the terrace.
✨Service: Exceptional and Heartfelt
The staff at Najd Al Meqsar truly made our stay unforgettable. From the warm welcome at the 24-hour front desk to the attentive service throughout, every team member went above and beyond. A special shoutout to Hassan for serving us incredible breakfast and Lotfy, who greeted us with genuine hospitality and shared fascinating stories about the hotel’s history and the Wadi Shie archaeological site. His passion for the property’s heritage made us feel like we were part of something special. The entire staff’s kindness and professionalism created a home-away-from-home atmosphere that I’ll remember for years.
