What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise The Gap Brecon Beacons for its absolutely stunning 360-degree panoramic views from the Golfer's Cap summit, describing them as breathtaking and well worth the effort. The surrounding woodland walks offer a peaceful escape, and the availability of a car park makes it accessible for various fitness levels. Some note the noise from the A470 below, and the old railway tunnel, while fascinating, is unsafe.
"Lovely 7 mile route to here today. Tad hilly, but there is a carpark there if you donβt like a long walk. Quite a few routes up to the actual Gap. I took a hard one up, but an easier one down. Views from the top are stunning, up two valleys either side, and towards Caerphilly area to the right. So peaceful and long as you block out the droll of A470 below. Highly recommended"

"Well worth a wee diversion of the Taff Trail to take in the views"

"Fantastic 360 degrees views right on the very top called the golfers cap, you can see Pen Y Fan, Corn Ddu near Brecon and Cilfynydd, Perthcelyn Reservoir and Carntown mountain and Penrhiwceiber and directly down from this is the famous gap. If you walk along the old canal accessed by the farm house just off the road there is an old railway tunnel which leads from Edwardsville to the other side. It's not safe at the moment with falling debris and large holes in the floor, but it's still fascinating to see."
