Reviews Summary
The Morecambe Bay Cross Bay Walk is an exhilarating and unique adventure, highly praised for its expert guides and the thrill of traversing the bay's sands. Participants love the sense of accomplishment, the stunning natural scenery, and the opportunity to support charities. However, the walk's inherent dangers mean it's crucial to go with an authorized guide, and the terrain can be challenging for those with mobility issues.
"There are a few misplaced posts here. This is specifically for the cross-bay walk, which is extremely dangerous and should never be attempted without Michael Wilson, the King’s Guide to the Sands.
We did the walk in August 2025; a group of almost 500 of us plus lots of dogs! The organisers were brilliant, as was Michael and the team of marshals. Thanks also to the tractor owners/drivers for providing an additional level of safety.
We were blessed with lovely weather and the route was approximately 6 miles. (It can be longer as the channels change daily.) People of all ages and abilities took part. The route is almost flat, but the start is a little rocky, the river crossings were knee deep, and the end was grassy/marshy. There are a number of stops en route to ensure no one gets left behind, particularly before the river crossings.
Most definitely worth doing, and in this case to earn funds for Grange Lido."

"Even without the cross-bay walk, an interesting place for a stroll along the shore. Plenty of interpretation boards. Plus Arthur Ransome's Swallow built here"
