Hector out in the water🐴🐴 He is one of a small herd of Exmoor ponies who have been conservation grazing in this little wetland nature reserve for over a decade - a testament to native hardiness and further proof that native breeds are the best choice for grazing projects. They graze the faster growing grass species which allows the rare sphagnum moss to thrive 😍🐴 It is important to note that welfa...

Okay, so my holiday apparently couldn't keep me away from riding and Owen and I went to the Exmoor Pony Centre for a walk and trot around the lanes, however I really think we need to go again and trek the Moor properly. Owen rode an Exmoor gelding called Almond and I had a mare called Periwinkle who was such a fun little pony 🥰 it was a really good experience and we both enjoyed our first time out...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Exmoor Pony Centre for its dedicated and knowledgeable staff, who go above and beyond to educate and welcome guests. The well-cared-for ponies and the beautiful, albeit remote, setting are frequently highlighted as major draws, making it a memorable experience for families and animal lovers alike.

"This is a wonderful place. Lovely staff, that are very helpful, caring and knowledgeable.
I took my wife, and Mother there yesterday.
They were given a tour of the stables, and were able to meet some of the lovely residents 🐎 🐴This was all free. They made a donation, which goes towards the up keep.
The gift shop is great too, and not too pricey.
We would definitely recommend giving this place a visit 👍☺️"

"Great experience, the staff go beyond and above to teach and make you feel welcome. We turned up early and sat in picnic area for lunch and had a look inside Greenn House where you can use toilet, look at history and information and eat picnic indoors. We booked a riding and grooming session where my daughters learned to tack up and groom before a ride around the lanes and fields at the centre. Very pretty area, location is quite remote. If you are looking to learn a bit about the Exmoor ponies, get close to them and ride, then this is a great day out, and will be a memorable family day for families, the cost wasn't over rated and what you pay goes to help the centre keep going."
