What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the SS Nornen shipwreck a fascinating historical relic, especially when visible at low tide. However, many note that there isn't much left of the wreck itself and that the walk across the beach can be challenging due to sinking sand and mud. It's considered a worthwhile sight if you're nearby and the tide is right, but not necessarily a destination in itself.
"There is not much left but fascinating to look at. About a mile walk from the Brean sands carpark. Massive beach but nothing really there. Arrived before the parking pay booth opened at 9am so hadn't parked on the actual beach, parked for free."
Girlie Whirlie
"Great beach, vast and impressive... Good for dog walking too. The walk to the wreck is good, very flat and definitely worth the effort."
Emma Hawker
"A wreck on the beach that can be walked up to. It's a nice to have a look at if your nearby and the tide is out, but not really worth going out of your way to go and see. I couldn't find any notice boards to give any information on the wreck either (although that's not so say there wasn't, I just couldn't find any).
Also a warning, when I went there was alot of sinking mud/sand around it."
