Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Rowtor Rocks for its unique sandstone formations and excellent bouldering opportunities, making it a gem for climbers and hikers alike. While parking can be a challenge and the terrain requires sturdy footwear, the natural beauty and historical intrigue of the area make it a worthwhile stop for those exploring the Peak District.

"We only had a brief stop here but we are definitely going back prepared as it's beautiful and looks like there's plenty of walks to choose from! Couldn't find a car park but found a little pull in.
Need to explore further!"

"Fantastic views from the Derbyshire dales so fantastic there is small cafe with toilets 🚻 all clean and fresh eating inside and out on the picnic benches lots of nature trails plenty of helpful and friendly people around for information brilliant part of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in Derbyshire"

Matthew Brookes

"I was passing through and decided to stop for the rocks. I was a little confused as to how to get to them. To make it simple for you, just park in the pub car park and the path is just behind the pub. If you start going on the track across the road you’re going the wrong way.

I went with the dog who really enjoyed climbing around. We did do a bit of a climb up the steep side which was a bit sketchy and I wouldn’t recommend it, but we enjoyed it.

It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, quite interesting and it’s something to do. I wouldn’t recommend going well out of your way as I wasn’t there for much more than an hour.

Overall, I’d recommend a visit if you’re nearby!"
