The tranquil atmosphere and diverse planting, especially the vibrant rhododendrons and serene lakes, are frequently highlighted. "Beautiful gardens. Walled garden with scented flowers, fruit and vegetables, fruit trees, exotic plants round lakes, bamboos, rhododendrons, sculpted yew "chapel", all around a (private) Georgian country house. Tea, coffee and cakes available. Immaculately maintained. Lovely, peaceful place for a walk and a snack."
Iain McNaught
"Visited today and have to admit that the gardens are nice and the ponds are gorgeous, but found the £8 entrance fee a little excessive considering it was only 1 mile to walk the entire way around the open grounds. On the NGS website it boasted of a 20 acre colour garden, we followed the arrows dotted about and didn't come across anything of the sort. I'm glad I've been and it's crossed off my list now."
AJ Haydon
"Absolutely stunning gardens and the lake is beautiful. Some of the narrower pathways around the lake may not be accessible to wheel chairs but there is still so much to see and enjoy. Highly recommend exploring!"
