Art studios/practice spaces to rent?
Hey all! I'm moving to Brighton next week and want to know... are there any art/music studios or spaces to rent where folks can work on their craft and set up their computer, etc, . How does it work over there?
Why doesn't Brighton have a dedicated public art gallery?
Sure there's paintings in Brighton museum, and they have little exhibitions upstairs, but Eastbourne and Hastings have properly decent dedicated galleries Edit: I know we probably aren't going to get one anytime soon since it would be expensive

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Phoenix Art Space is praised for its central, light-filled gallery showcasing diverse local art, including impressive graduate shows and engaging mixed-media exhibitions. However, some visitors have found certain exhibitions to be less thought-provoking, and there are criticisms regarding the venue's operational practices and interpersonal dynamics.
"Bad art. Usually some sort of charity woke nonsense. Lots of back patting and speeches and very little thought provoking material.
Run by a bunch of man hating misandrists: I ran the cafe for two years and worked every event later than all the gallery staff, yet they refuse to give me a job reference because 'I didn't work for them' even though they were perfectly happy giving me orders and messing with my coffee business all hours of the day.
When an old lady cracked her head on the gallery floor I walked her home and checked in on her to make sure she wasn't injured and wouldn't sue the gallery. And this is how I'm repaid... no job reference.
Awful people. They care about causes and charity until it comes to actually lifting a finger for someone who went above and beyond for the building."

"Visited the platform graduate show December 2020. Show was hit by a national lockdown, but was made street visible and was available online. Managed to get a private viewing after lockdown finished. Great event, quality artwork."
Maurice Atkinson
"We visited the festival exhibition which was mixed media, comprising video, interactive film, sculpted pieces, acrylics and rope/netting as well as traditional painting. We particularly enjoyed the interactive film and the acrylic poured pieces."
