What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find Brighton Naturist Beach at Duke's Mound to be a liberating and safe space for naturism, with many appreciating the freedom and relaxed atmosphere. However, the pebbly nature of the beach and occasional rough sea conditions are noted drawbacks. Some visitors have also reported encountering inappropriate behavior, though this is not the norm.
"My partner and I are naturists and enjoyed our visit here. There were plenty of single men enjoying sunbathing and swimming but very few couples or single women.
We visited in mid-July on a Wednesday. It was a very hot 25 degrees, so a dip in the sea would have been ideal, but the waves were a little too rough due to the wind for our liking, unfortunately.
It is a shame the beach is pebbly, so it's not that comfortable to lay on, but we enjoyed our time here.
We saw a couple of men openly masturbating on the beach, but not over anything in particular, just to make you aware."

"Going here was not really planned but hey ho, I was passing and decided to give it a go. The area is clearly marked out as a naturist beach and you can plonk yourself anywhere you like. I was fortunate to have a really nice day with very little breeze and I felt comfortable stripping down and basking in the sunshine. The beach is pebbles, as with most beaches in Brighton, so definitely take a towel with you as I certainly will when I next return. Everyone there was just happy enjoying the sunshine and freedom, and no one bothered me as I lay there. If you go just be confident and strip off as you will see all shapes and sizes. Not recommended on a chilly day though 🤭"

"A bit cold but beautiful sunshine and calm sea. Quite a few guys went in the water for a swim. Lovely beach.
Happy memories. Now gone. The beach here is now no longer available. It has become part of the "modernization" where you can only walk on set paths through non existent plants.
This area is no longer natural in any way.
And so it goes.....
A pool for only the very privaliged
No normal resident can access it.
Just another " private use" area paid for by Brighton citizens who have no access to it.."
