Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Clacton Seafront Gardens for their beautiful themed areas, lovely sea views, and the variety of plants, especially the drought-resistant Mediterranean species. It's seen as a peaceful respite from the busier seafront attractions, offering a pleasant experience for all ages, though some note it can be a bit pricey for other nearby activities.

"This was a lovely place to go beach was nice and a lot of shops and entertainment very diverse and something for all ages . Bit pricey but you expect that at the seafront"

"Clacton's Seafront Park along Marine Parade comprises 4 sunken gardens separated by storm shelters. Each of the gardens is formally laid out with benches as well as a specific theme;
Sensory Garden;
Mediterranean Garden;
1920's Garden;
Rose Garden.
Both the 1920's Garden & the Rose Garden have both been revised in purpose over the decades, the latter now being a continuation of the War Memorial Park. Full details about the plants in each theme Garden as well as the reasons for their choice is explained in full by on-site signage. The Mediterranean Garden is perhaps the most relevant to the area, planted out with cultivars resistant to drought. The nearby resort of St. Osyth has the lowest recorded rainfall in UK & in Elmstead Market is the famous Beth Chatto Gardens, specialising in plants evolved to thrive in poor soils with a drought climate. There's also a rock garden planted around the pillars of the Venetian Bridge, opposite Clacton Pier."

"Great flower display, lovely views
My grandchildren even met some dinosaurs out for a stroll along the prom, and saw the air ambulance.
Mother in law enjoyed her 99, a great day out, all in all."
