"Lovely 4.7 mile circular walk starting at Marsden Grotto car park. Go along coast and in middle if curved wall turn right. Go to main road on path. Cross and to down to cut by windmill. Find the public footpath and follow all way to Cleadon windmill. Go beyond take right over stile and work way uphill and round to Golf course. Cross using Yellow markers while being alert. Through gap.in wall and follow path all way down to road. Cross and use public path down to just right if the car park."

The Oxmoor ponies are regularly housed on Cleadon Hills for grazing but are not there all year around. Regardless, Cleadon Hills offers lovely countryside and farmland terrain with some spectacular views of Sunderland and South Tyneside. It is also home to the famous Cleadon Windmill and Cleadon Water Tower."
