"An amazing gift to the isle and part of our beloved local history now . ."

"Visited with grandchildren, who enjoyed looking at and talking about the Viking ship. Good to see a team on site working on the gates around the ship, hopefully they'll continue with all the railings as it's looking a bit tired.
Walked down to the old hoverport site which is well worth a look. Nothing for kids to do but it's a nice walk with great views.
Nice coffee and ice creams at the cafe."

"I like this place it’s easy to get a parking space always fairly busy and ideal for dog walking.
The Viking ship is kept in very good condition the area is clean no rubbish grass cut regular and plenty of benches around.
The little cafe is very handy especially if you need a drink and there’s loos too.
It’s dog friendly with outdoor seating and the walks just go on for hours from there.
If you go through the fields and head down you’ll get to the old Hoverport there’s a nature reserve down there too so keep the dogs on leads especially during breeding season as there’s loads of migratory birds hidden away in the marshes sitting on eggs and the sand is very soft and muddy not safe to walk on as you can sink into it.
Definitely a great place for long walks and some chill time and if you like birdwatching there’s a great variety to be seen."
