What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Connaught Park for its family-friendly playground and suitability for dog walking, offering lovely views and a peaceful escape. However, some lament the loss of past amenities and note the limited parking and steep inclines as potential drawbacks.
"Visited here plenty of times throughout the years. When you walk up here actually doesn’t feel like it’s part of the town. Lovely for families with children as the park bit has been overhauled from how it used to be when I was younger, and it’s a great walk with the dog. It’s on a hill side so which ever way you go in your be faced with going up or down hill.
Would be a five but I feel in recent years it has declined by getting rid of the bird Averies and the ice cream stand that was once there."
Rob
"It's a plain sort of park, not really much to see, a lot of grass. There is a tiny pond with some mossy water and some mallard ducks."
Brim Zeze
"Lovely quiet park with plenty of grass to sit or play games, a play park, a pond that is full of tadpoles every spring, and a small wooded area. It's a great place to walk the dog or take the kids. Parking is very limited though to a small layby on Connaught Road, but you could park on a street a bit further out and walk if you needed."
