What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Canterbury is praised for its rich history, particularly its connection to Thomas Becket and its stunning medieval architecture. Visitors appreciate the ease of access from London and the charming atmosphere of the city, with its excellent pubs and green spaces like Westgate Gardens. However, the current inaccessibility of Conquest House as a museum is a noted drawback.
"A lovely place, safe to say its very old timber framed building, hopefully someone else can post some more info on that. One enters into a grocery shop, produce looks super fresh. There are also organic nut/grain dispensers, bought a bag of organic buckwheat amongst other things... On the back wall is a 16th century motif found behind some plaster. Downstairs the shop continues with eco friendly items... They also had vegan cakes freshly baked by the super friendly shopkeeper. Upstairs is a contemporary art gallery - the exposed roof structure is worth a look and the garden must be fab in summer."
