What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Reculver Towers to be a historically rich and atmospheric coastal site, offering free entry and beautiful views. The ruins are particularly captivating, and the nearby country park provides good amenities for a pleasant day out. However, access to climb the towers is limited and not suitable for everyone.
"It was interesting to see the restoration work and be able to climb one tower to see the view. The tower will only be open on special occasions and is not accessible for people with mobility problems. The spiral stone stairway is narrow, uneven and dark in some areas. The presence of English Heritage volunteers on the Heritage Open Day was good, providing additional info."

"This is an interesting (and free) point to stop for a while if you're walking or cycling along the Saxon Shore Way. It's right next to Reculver Country Park where you'll find all the usual amenities, car parking, café (HatsHats), pub (The King Ethelbert), playground for younger kids, public toilets (dated but everything worked). You can walk or cycle for Kms in either direction towards Minnis Bay to the east or Herne Bay to the west. A great place for a walk on a gorgeous day."
Robert Marshall
"How can we build roads that last a couple of years, if we are lucky, and this magnificent church is still there. They are ruins but still a great monument for history. Free to visit."
