What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Douglas Valley are mixed, with strong praise for the educational environment and staff at a local nursery school, alongside criticisms of administrative inflexibility. The natural beauty of the canal and historical landmarks like the viaduct are generally appreciated.
"I honestly cannot recommend Douglas Valley Nursery School highly enough. My son absolutely loved going there, and it’s been such a joy to see how much he’s grown during his time with them. Every single member of staff — from the nursery to preschool — has been amazing. The care, dedication, and support they’ve shown have meant the world to us.
It’s been so lovely watching my son develop his confidence, curiosity, and love for learning, all thanks to the nurturing environment the team has created. A special mention also goes to the wonderful office staff — always so kind, helpful, and ready to support whenever needed.
As he now moves on to big school, it’s with a very full heart and a touch of sadness — but I’ll always be grateful for everything Douglas Valley has done for my son. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

"The school is great and my son loves going here. It received outstanding from Ofsted and is in a good location. The staff (teaching) are ‘lovey’ and really polite, with the exception of the back office staff who are ‘patronizing’ and ‘snooty’. The payment system is very inflexible, but do not question it unless you want lecture on ‘mathematics’ from said back office staff.
Avoid back office staff if you can and you will have a great experience. I couldn't hence my 2 star rating because I 'Disliked it'!"

"I don't recommend this place . I wanted to send my son there . I filled all forms , bought birth certificate, as we didn't have at home and they never turned back to me with availability. I'm finding this disrespectful."
