Originally formed by the flooding of former coal mining sites, this unique chain ...

We were asked for seasonal finger foods and that’s what we did 🍂 The beautiful flowers were grown by my friend Jenny who planned the special day. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Wigan Flashes for its beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife, and accessible paths, making it a great spot for walking, cycling, and dog outings. Some note occasional strong odors from the water and concerns about inconsiderate cyclists or motorbikes on shared paths.

"Nice walk between the flash and canal then over the bridge and walk back. Good walk for the dog. Lots of cyclists as it is a shared space but some cyclists seem to think they have more right and go two abreast so pass very close to walkers. Other cyclists were great and we both gave each other space. Flash stunk of either poop or just stagnant water and some suspicious foam was on the shore."

Mark Davies

"Beautiful. Such an amazing place with lakes, canals, woodlands and very peaceful. Ideal for families, cyclists, dog walkers, wheelchair and pram friendly footpaths."

Keren Broadrick

"Fantastic local nature reserve and great beauty spot for walking and many other outdoor activities."
