What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Flatford Mill for its picturesque beauty and its direct connection to John Constable's art, calling it a 'beautiful spot' and 'Constable Country.' The riverside walks and the chance to see iconic scenes like Willy Lott's Cottage are highly appreciated. However, some found guided tours too long and detailed, and noted that while the cafe quality is good, prices are on the higher side.
"Very helpful, and friendly staff and volunteers. Cafe isn't cheap but quality is good as well. Well thought out route in and out.
Well worth the trip to get there.
My only criticism was the cost of signing up for annual membership, which didn't encourage spending the extra per month considering cost of entrance and car parking."

"Beautiful spot. Constable Country.
The Hay Wain is located here. £6.00 a car.. take cash if you don't want to go on line to pay.
Took lots of photos 📸
You can have a boat trip on the river for half an hour.
Run by the National Trust. No entry fee. What a bonus!!! Food in cafe..
Shop on site as well.
Great day out"

"Really enjoyed our visit. Great opportunity to find out more about John Constable, his life and work, and take photos of his famous work at Flatford Mill..Too late for a boat ride otherwise would have done so. The small information centre was really interesting and the scones in the coffee shop. Lovely place"
