What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the well-maintained grounds and the opportunity to connect with Constable's origins. The peaceful atmosphere and lovely walks are highlights, though some note that natural overgrowth can obscure certain iconic views painted by the artist.
"Fantastic place, well maintained by the National Trust. We got there early and were able to take pictures with no one else in sight. We visited the cafe and enjoyed the RSPB area. Both were great. We chatted to NT gardeners who were friendly and knowledgeable. A fantastic visit."
Sue Collier
"Very pretty place. Has a cafe, and an over priced art gallery.
The odd thing for me is that this is controlled by English heritage or such like, because of the association with Constable. However, all his art works show vistas over the fields from the mill. Those vistas don't exist now, as they have allowed massive bushes, and weeds to grow that stop these views. I guess that is because they want to conserve the 'countryside' and provide habitat for the wild animals. But that then does not make this 'Constable' countryside any more!
Still a lovely place to visit."

"Great place to visit. Free admission to well maintained attractions. There is a charge for parking bug reasonable cost.
Nice maintained walks of varying lengths too.."
