Maenporth Beach is praised for its beautiful, calm, and shallow sandy shores, making it exceptionally family-friendly and safe for children. Visitors appreciate the less crowded atmosphere compared to other Cornish beaches, the convenience of the beach cafe, and the availability of water sports rentals. Some minor drawbacks include the condition of public toilets at times and seasonal dog restrictions.
"Beautifully calm open sandy beach . Calm waves takes a while to get to the deep water but this is absolutely perfect for family’s with children and or dogs .
Dog friendly at certain times . Lovely little sea caves you can explore !"
Ashleigh Brunton
"Lovely beach, not as crowded as some other Cornish beaches. The beach cafe is decent, and you can hire kayaks and paddle boards from a guy on the beach, it's £15 per hour for a single kayak or £25 for a twin kayak which we felt was very reasonable. Overall it's a pretty beach with a nice vibe."
Dan Watkinson
"A beautiful wide open beach with lots of space. The bay is very flat and you can walk out into the water for a hundred meters or more without the water getting above your waist. The waters seem very calm and warm. There are lots of caves and rock pools to explore along the sides, as well as a nice walk that follows the coast on either side. There is a great cafe and ice cream shop just behind the beach with clean toilets and amenities. It is also a dog friendly beach as long as you are respectful."
