What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Five Weirs Walk for its blend of urban exploration and nature, with many enjoying wildlife spotting and the improved cycling paths. However, some find signage unclear and certain sections can be muddy or poorly maintained, requiring careful navigation.
"Leaving the canal basin and heading East be aware that footpath closes just after Windsor Street. There are no signs indicating alternatives! Do not take Windsor Street as it ends in an enclosed car park and you have to double back and rejoin after crossing the bridge at East coast Rd"
Andy M Turner
"Anyone who lives in Sheffield, and is able, should give the walk a go. It's easy going but decent in length.
The path is blocked at one point but it's not a big deal to bypass and rejoin.
Keep an eye out for wildlife."
STEVE
"Nice walk although parts of it are not finished yet, you have to leave the river path and use the foot paths by the roads and the directions are not always clear to get back onto the riverside. The canal path in sections are bad and can be muddy in wet weather."
